2012 WKC BOD Ballot

The 2011 WKC Board of Directors is happy to provide this year's ballot for 2012-2013's five (5) vacant BOD positions.

Please take time to cast your vote and select who you think will best represent the organization.

The ballot is available here.

The ballot can be cast in two ways...

It can be mailed to:

It can be hand delivered to the 2012 WKC Annual Swap meet in Berryville, VA (Berryville Fairgrounds), on Feb. 25th by 11:00 am.

If you know of any member that may not be receiving the club email, please make sure they get a copy of the ballot so that they can cast their vote.

BoD Election Information / Swap Meet Update

WKC will be electing the 2012-13 Board of Directors at the WKC Swap Meet on February 25th.  Details and times for the swap meet can be found on the 2012 Schedule page.  WKC will be accepting members ballots at the swap meet up to 11:00 am at which time the ballots will be counted and the new Board of Directors will be sworn in.  Good luck to all that are running and we look forward to a good turn out at the swap meet.

The WKC Board felt a drastic reduction in the sponsorship fee would encourage greater participation by our members. The fee has been reduced from $400 to $200!! But please be advised, in the past extra parking space was always allowed for our sponsors friends and family. If you feel extra space is needed in your paddock area, please feel free to continue your sponsorship at the $400 level and extra space will be allotted. The new parking layouts will only accommodate those who are paid sponsors.  To sign up as a new sponsor or renew for 2012 season download this form found HERE and follow the instructions enclosed.  WKC wishes to thank all our past and future sponsors.

Novice School 2012

WKC will be holding the 2012 Novice School at the end of the Swap Meet this year.  The Swap Meet will be held at the Clarke County Fairgrounds on Feb 25th.  For more information see the 2012 Schedule page.

 
Rest in Peace, Peter Cosmo DeCuzzi

It is with great sadness that the WKC announces the passing of Peter Cosmo DeCuzzi. As a 25+ year club member, he will be sorely missed at the track. From the DeCuzzi family:

My Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of the passing of my dear and loving Father; Peter Cosmo DeCuzzi.

After a long and difficult struggle he passed peacefully in my Mother’s loving embrace with myself and my Brother Bob holding his hands. He slipped away into a peaceful, star filled crisp winter sky.

As most of you know, my dad had just undergone a very serious brain surgery. The surgery was performed flawlessly by one of the top neurosurgeons in the country. Doctor Brem at HUP saved my Dad from the ravages of a tumor in his brain, performing extremely sensitive surgery with a stellar staff which he assembled to assure a perfect outcome. The surgery was a great success, in the days after the surgery he laughed and talked with all seven of his grandchildren who came to be with him from all over the country. unfortunately there were other issues involved which caused my Dad to succumb. We fought the good fight and he went in the way he wished; fighting to make him well.

All the while our family was with him in the hospital even through Christmas in the HUP ICU and rehab at Lady of Lourdes where Bob had him watch the New Years fireworks from the Lourdes Solarium. He was the most kind, loving, compassionate and patient man that I have ever had the honor to know. He will be sadly missed, but proudly and happily remembered by those who he touched.

The Funeral arrangements have been made, there will be a brief Christian Science Service followed by a Masonic Funeral Service and concluded with a US Air Force Flag Ceremony.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday from 12:00 - 1:30 PM at the HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 9 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights, NJ where His Funeral Service will be held immediately following the viewing. Interment will be private.

2012 Woodbridge Kart Club Schedule Announcement

The Woodbridge Kart Club Board of Directors would like to announce the 2012 racing schedule. After working the past few months with the tracks, we are happy to announce the following schedule:

May 4, 5, 6 Summit Point Raceway Shenandoah: Shared event with FRCCA/BSFCS (the 4th date will be for a test of a possible new track configuration and then practice starting at 1:00pm).

June 23, 24 Summit Point Raceway Main: Shared Event with FRCCA/BSFC.

July 27, 28, 29 VIRginia International Raceway Full Course (WKA National):
*** This is the first time that WKC has been able to negotiate a Full Course deal with VIR. ***

Sept 7, 8, 9 Summit Point Raceway Main: (WKA National)

Oct 13, 14 Summit Point Raceway Main: Shared event with FRCCA/BSFCS.

It is unfortunate that we were unable to negotiate a 2012 date for NJMP. We do hope that for 2013 we will be able to negotiate a date and that we will be able to return to NJMP.

We hope that you will be able to plan your schedule accordingly and participate in all of the schedule events to make our 2012 racing season a success.

I would like to thank the 2011 Board of Directors for taking the time to put this schedule together and reviewing the options to make a great schedule for 2012.
