Just clarifying to our competetors especially for you new folks who will be racing with us, to compete at a club event you MUST have a WKA Membership or a Temporary WKA Membership.  Temporary WKA Memberships will be available in Registration for Non National events.  The fee is $20.00
To run a WKA National Event, even though hosted by WKC you MUST have a WKA License and temporary/weekend memberships will NOT be available that weekend.

Chris,

There appear to be two "entanglements" with the WKA

1.  WKA membership
Thank you for clarifying that for ALL WKC races, we need to be WKA members.  Does not make sense to me, but if that is the BOD's decision, that is OK.  Perhaps there is some insurance reason.

2.  WKA Road Racing License
I had assumed that, since I will (try to) run Vintage Euro this year, and since Vintage classes (and other local option classes) are not recognized by the WKA, that I did not need a WKA Road Race (Enduro) License.  Rather, a WKC road race license is the only license required for vintage and other local option classes.  Is this true?

But for WKA recognized national classes, are WKA Road Racing licenses required for ALL club races by the WKC?

Best regards,
     Bob

Our whole program, regardless of whether we are running Shenandoah or VIR is covered under WKA's insurance.  I would be happy to explain this in detail to anyone who wants to educate themselves in how karting works here in the US.  But in person would be better.  I will be in registration for our whole race weekend at the end of this month.  Come see me Smiley  Better yet see me when i have a Drink in my hand at the end of the day Wink

Chris,

Thank you for clarifying.  Your recent email made it clear for me.  I can be so "dense" sometimes. [My wife will concur.]

I will see you at NJMP!  And that end-of-the-day beverage sounds great!  Thank you again for volunteering to do the Licensing Director job (and others)!  Without you and the other volunteers and workers, we would not be able to have fun RACING!

It's all good!
