Richard "Dick" Cloney, of Keysville, Virginia, passed away at his home this past weekend after battling cancer for the last several months. He was 69.
Involved in enduro-style kart racing, Cloney was a current Woodbridge Kart Club Board of Directors member and raced in the Stock Leopard division at WKC and WKA Road Racing events with his wife, Tommi Jones-Cloney. Cloney was key overseer in WKC's annual WKA national at VIRginia Int'l Raceway, from which he resided only about an hour. Cloney spent countless hours on the phone and in communication with VIR track officials, WKC and WKA members and sponsors in ensuring the continued success of the popular VIR national. His efforts clearly succeeded as the race continues to forge ahead as one of the most anticipated annual Road Racing events in the country. Click here to read Dick's obituary
