After a successful start to the 2020 season on the Shenandoah Circuit two weeks ago, the Woodbridge Kart Club is looking forward to race number two of the season and welcoming the AKRA National Road Racing Series to Summit Point Motorsports Park on August 22-23!
Preregistration for the event will open on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, and will be available online via RaceDay which may be accessed through the club website www.woodbridgekartclub.com. The event will be run under WKC/WKA rules and, as in years past, will be a shared event with the FRP (Formula Race Productions) formula car series. As club officials finalize track times with the folks at FRP, the event schedule will published. The Woodbridge Kart Club is happy to have the folks with the AKRA National Road Racing Series on hand! AKRA looks forward to the series return at Summit Point, so put the date on your calendar and join us about a month from now.
Summit Point Motorsports Park is working closely with the local government to ensure a safe event as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic. The WKC Board appreciates everyone’s efforts at our first event and graciously asks for your compliance at this one. As of now, the current guidelines are as follows:
• Masks or facial coverings will be required when you are not in your immediate paddock space. This includes the mandatory driver’s meeting each morning
• Social distancing is encouraged at all times and will be adhered to when conducting transactions at the track (i.e. registration, scale line, tech, etc.)
• At the completion of a race, we ask that while in the scale line, please keep your helmet on or have a mask ready to put on once you take the helmet off
These protocols are subject to change and we will announce those as they become available. In the meantime, get your pre-entries in and save yourself time, money, and hassle at the track!
