SUMMIT POINT, W. Va. — Woodbridge Kart Club is pleased to announce the club has partnered with two great karting companies for the 2022 Animal Nationals set for May 20-22 at Summit Point Motorsports Park in conjunction with round one of the AKRA National Road Race Series.
4 Cycle Central has signed on as the title sponsor of the Animal Nationals. The official name of the event will now be the AKRA / Hoosier Kartsport Road Race Series featuring the 2022 Animal Nationals presented by 4 Cycle Central.
Owned and operated by longtime karters Bob and Regan Vehring of Milwaukee, Wis., 4 Cycle Central offers top-level Briggs & Stratton and 4-cycle engine building and services for racers around the country. The team brought many new racers to Summit Point for last year’s Animal Nationals and the same will be the case for this May’s event.
“The Animal Nationals have been around for the last 10 or 11 years and we are really excited to have the Woodbridge Kart Club host this event again this year,” 4 Cycle Central owner Regan Vehring said. “This event is a big deal to me and karting and I really wanted to stay involved in as many aspects of the event as we can.
“Josh (Nevels) has helped tremendously in recruiting sponsors and karters from around the US and we will be working hard in the coming months to make this bigger than last year. We have an awesome, custom made trophy that we will give a preview to in the coming weeks. It’s something everyone is going to want to win.”

MGM Chassis has signed on to sponsor Saturday’s Animal Nationals 30-minute race. Saturday’s race will be titled the MGM Chassis Prelude to the Animal Nationals with a special handmade trophy being awarded to the winner plus a $100 gift certificate to MGM.
Owned and operated by Paul and April Rice in Kannapolis, N.C., MGM manufacturers sprint and road race kart chassis and components. Their Espionage chassis for CIK LO206 sprint and road racing has won many of the biggest races and championships across the country in recent years. At Daytona in late December, MGM debuted a new sprint-enduro kart for road racing called the Mirage and we expect several will be in competition this May at the Nationals.

Another sprint-enduro chassis manufacturer, Revolution Racing Chassis, has posted a fiberglass floorpan with connecting rockers (lower sidepanels) as an award for the race. The floorpan is a universal fit for 36.5” karts including their SpitFire chassis and Revolution’s Josh Antley is working on more bodywork products for sprint-enduros that he hopes to have available in the coming months.
