NEXT UP – Summit Point Shenandoah Circuit July 25-26

We’ve had a little break since hosting the NCCAR AKRA Nationals in May, and we’re now drawing closer to our third Woodbridge Kart Club Road Racing event of the season.

In one month we’ll return to Summit Point for the first of two summer road races at our home venue.

The Shenandoah Circuit plays host to road racing this July 25-26. As always, the Shenandoah round is a two-day event — no Friday practice. The track will open for parking Friday night, and Saturday and Sunday mornings will include plenty of practice before racing. We’ll run our traditional 1.6-mile Shenandoah Circuit configuration in the clockwise direction.

Pre-registration at WKC Alpha Timing is set to open Wednesday, July 1, so watch our Facebook page for announcements on when reg is live.

For the first time ever we’re welcoming the Northeast Kart Challenge to Shenandoah in a new collaboration. The NKC is an established sprint series that runs at tracks like New Jersey (NJMP) and Oakland Valley (OVRP). Both the WKC and NKC series are reaching out of the box, if you will, to partner in an effort to boost Shenandoah entry numbers and competition, and help both programs.  Both race days will count for NKC and WKC points, so we’re expecting some new racers and faces.

The only major change will be starting procedures for most classes. Instead of our enduro-style standing starts, we’ll be doing rolling starts for most race groups. Race director Brandon Taylor will explain the starting procedures at the event drivers meetings.

Three weeks after Shenandoah, we’ll head to Summit Point’s 2-mile Main Circuit to host the AKRA Summit Point Nationals. Keep in mind this race is August 14-16, and one week earlier than our regular August date at Summit Main. Stay tuned for announcements on the Summit Point Nationals.
