Woodbridge Kart Club Announces 2027 Road Racing Schedule with Four Summit Point Events

New September Shenandoah Circuit weekend highlights 2027 calendar; two additional AKRA Nationals to count toward WKC championship points

SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. — Woodbridge Kart Club (WKC) has announced its 2027 road racing schedule, featuring four WKC-hosted events at Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia, along with two additional AKRA National Road Racing Series events that will count toward the club’s annual championship standings.

The 2027 season will open April 10-11 at Summit Point’s Jefferson Circuit before returning July 24-25 for the first of two events at the challenging Shenandoah Circuit. WKC’s traditional August weekend at Summit Point’s Main Circuit is tentatively scheduled for August 20-22, with the possibility of moving to August 13-15. The Main Circuit weekend will once again serve as a national event for the AKRA National Road Racing Series.

A notable addition to the 2027 calendar is a second Shenandoah Circuit weekend, scheduled for September 25-26. The new fall event will provide WKC competitors another opportunity to race at the popular circuit while closing out the club’s four-event Summit Point schedule.

2027 Woodbridge Kart Club Schedule

  • April 10-11 — Summit Point Jefferson Circuit — WKC Regional
  • April 30-May 2 — NCCAR — AKRA National (WKC Points)
  • July 24-25 — Summit Point Shenandoah Circuit — WKC Regional
  • August 20-22* — Summit Point Main Circuit — WKC / AKRA National
  • September 25-26 — Summit Point Shenandoah Circuit — WKC Regional
  • Date TBA — Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course — AKRA National (WKC Points)

The August Summit Point Main Circuit event is tentative and may move to August 13-15.

In addition to its four Summit Point events, WKC will recognize championship points earned at two AKRA Nationals hosted outside the club’s regular schedule. These include the AKRA-hosted NCCAR Nationals on April 30-May 2 and the Mid-Ohio Nationals, with dates for the latter event to be announced.

2027 Championship Eligibility

For the 2027 WKC championship, competitors may count their best nine of 12 race finishes toward the final point standings.

To qualify for year-end championship awards, drivers must maintain a WKC membership in good standing throughout the 2027 season and compete in a minimum of six of the eight WKC-hosted race days.

This format allows competitors to pursue championship points at all six designated race weekends while maintaining an emphasis on participation in WKC’s own Summit Point events.

Practice Day Information

Competitors should note that WKC’s three regional weekends — Jefferson Circuit in April and both Shenandoah Circuit events in July and September — will feature Saturday and Sunday racing only, with no Friday practice scheduled. As always, multiple practice rounds will be offered Saturday and Sunday mornings at WKC Regional races.

The NCCAR Nationals, Mid-Ohio Nationals and Summit Point Main Circuit National weekend will include Friday practice opportunities.

Additional information regarding event registration, race schedules and the final confirmation of the August Main Circuit date will be announced as details become available.
