Hiser Composites, SKC post another $750 in awards for Animal Nationals

SUMMIT POINT, W. Va. — Fiberglass bodywork manufacturer Hiser Composites and road race karting organization Southern Kart Club have signed on to sponsor and support the 2022 Animal Nationals presented by 4-Cycle Central, set to take place May 20-22 as the headline class at the AKRA / Hoosier Kartsport National Road Race Series season opener at Summit Point Motorsports Park.

Hiser Composites has posted a generous sponsorship for the Animal Nationals that will reward each day’s race winner as well as a couple of finishers deeper in the field.

For Saturday’s 30-minute race, the winner will receive a certificate for a Hiser sprint-enduro fiberglass nosecone, while the 10th-place finisher will win a $50.00 gift certificate toward Hiser products.

For Sunday’s contest, the winner will receive a certificate for a pair of Hiser sidepanels, and the 12th-place finisher will win a $50.00 gift certificate toward Hiser products.

In all, the sponsorship totals an outstanding $550 value.

Hiser Composites owner Lance Hiser spoke about his sponsorship for the Animal Nationals.

“I wanted to reward the winners and also spread a couple prizes through the field,” Hiser said. “The winners deserve a nice awards package for their efforts, and so do the racers who battle hard for top-10 or top-12 finishes. Every one who helps make up the field for this race is important. It’s a really cool event and I’m glad to see it growing.”

Hiser Composites is the leading manufacturer for fiberglass bodywork for road racing karts. The company owns the former New Concept Design molds, which was the bodywork of choice for most road racers during the 1990s and 2000s. Hiser has also made his own designs and has a growing customer base and following in road racing circles over the past couple of years.

Winners of the nosecone and sidepanels will receive Hiser Composites certificates and can arrange to pick up the product at a future race or pay freight costs to have the product shipped.

Southern Kart Club has posted two race entries for their Oct. 15-16 Road Race Regional event at Roebling Road Raceway near Savannah, Ga.

A non-transferrable certificate toward a race entry to the fall Roebling Road event will be awarded to a finisher in both Saturday and Sunday’s Animal Nationals races.

SKC is looking to attract new racers to Roebling for their annual October event, a two-day race that marks the last East Coast road race of the season before the annual Daytona KartWeek in late December.

The finishing positions in each day’s races to receive the SKC entries is TBD and will be announced when all contingency awards are solidified.

Last year, a number of SKC regulars made the trip north to Summit Point for the AKRA season opener and we hope to see many more this coming May.

SKC has their annual spring WKA Road Race National coming up at Roebling Road in less than two weeks — March 4-6. Online pre-registration is open until Saturday, Feb. 26 at 6pm.

Hiser Composites and SKC join a growing list of sponsors and driver donations for the Animal Nationals, which has a $5,000 purse posted by Woodbridge Kart Club, sponsors and driver donations.

Race format

Saturday and Sunday’s 30-minute races will be scored separately with the overall Animal Nationals champion determined by the driver with the best average finish from the two races.

Lineup formation for Saturday and Sunday’s races are still being decided.

The AKRA National Road Race Series season opener is less than four months away and don’t forget about WKC’s season opener April 15-16 at Summit Point’s Shenandoah Circuit.

Pre-registration for both events will be available later this winter.
