Welcome to the 2020 Racing Season with the Woodbridge Kart Club

The Woodbridge Kart Club Board of Directors is excited to welcome our members and guests to the 2020 racing season.  Fresh off the annual membership meeting that took place at Summit Point Motorsports Park this past Saturday, the newly elected board and executive officers are ready to get the new year underway!

To start the new year, five board members were elected/re-elected to the Board of Directors.  The returning board members, now in their second year of a two-year term, are Scott Sanders, Bill Kassy, Jeff Troup, Clark Gaynor, Sr., and Jonathan Tedder.  The newly selected board members, elected to a new two-year term, are Simon Whitnell, Brandon Taylor, Don Johnson, Rodney Smith, and J.C. Sanders.  Bob Wimmer has just completed his term on the board and the club is thankful for his years of service.  Bob will continue as the sponsorship chairperson for 2020, so if you are interested in becoming a sponsor for this year, reach out to Bob at L8apex63@gmail.com.

Finally, the board elected its executive officers for the 2020 season.  Rodney Smith completed his tenth year as the President of the Woodbridge Kart Club this past season and elected to step down from the position.  The membership, board, and karting community are in debt to Rodney for the countless hours he has dedicated to the sport and to the club.  For everyone in karting, thank you, Rodney.

Bill Kassy was nominated and elected as the new President, his third stint at the helm.  Jonathan Tedder will serve as Vice President, Brandon Taylor will remain the secretary, and Rodney Smith will remain the treasurer.

Have you renewed your membership for 2020?  If not, save yourself some time and hassle and get it done prior to the first race of year.  The deadline to renew and maintain your reserved kart number from last year is March 15.  After that date, your number will be released to anyone wishing to take it.  You can renew your membership at https://wkc.raceday.pro/sign_in.  Remember, if you have already created a user ID, please use that one and do NOT create a new one.  This saves many headaches on everyone’s end!  If you have questions about your RaceDay account, please contact Rodney Smith at rodneysmithWV@comcast.net.

Keep up to date with the club by signing up for email announcements that go out periodically, checking our club Facebook page, and on our website.  Look for more exciting changes to that platform in the coming months!  As always, should you have any questions, want to get involved, or volunteer, feel free to email the Board of Directors at bod@woodbridgekartclub.com.  We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you very soon!
