SUMMIT POINT W. Va. — WKC wishes to thank all who attended the August 25-27 AKRA / Hoosier Kartsport Road Race National at Summit Point Motorsports Park. It’s always special to return to Summit’s Main Circuit — our “home track” that WKC has been holding events at for more than five decades!

We’re happy to report a successful weekend with just shy of 100 drivers in attendance totaling 336 race entries. Twenty-three drivers took advantage of the 4 Race / Friday Practice / Pit Pass BUNDLE Discount.

This year’s Summit Point Nationals featured some outstanding competition in many divisions including 100 TaG, 125 TaG, 125 Shifter, Stock Honda, Piston Port Sprint, Yamaha Enduro, Animal Sprint, Vintage and CIK 206, among others.

Most importantly, the event was a safe one. Only one red flag slowed the action all weekend — a lap 1 incident involving Animal Sprint racer Chris Kent in Saturday’s 7th race. Chris was sore with some road rash, but he was otherwise OK!

While this past weekend’s event closes out WKC-hosted races in 2023, next up for many of our racers is the Sept. 22-24 Dart Kart Club-hosted AKRA Nationals at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. The Pittsburgh Nationals does count toward WKC championships standings, and it will be the final points event of the season!
