Woodbridge Kart Club is pleased to announce its six-event 2023 schedule that includes four WKC-hosted events including two AKRA / Hoosier Kartsport Road Race Nationals plus two Dart Kart Club-hosted AKRA Nationals.
WKC will open its new season April 15-16 with the traditional two-day spring regional event at Summit Point Motorsports Park’s Shenandoah Circuit.
A new venue joins the WKC circuit Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7, when the club will travel to the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR) near Roanoke Rapids, N.C., for a WKC-hosted AKRA National Road Race.
NCCAR is a 2.0-mile circuit located off Interstate 95 just south of the Virginia / N.C. line. The track hosted two road race kart events in the early 2010s and WKC is looking forward to returning and bringing karts back to the fast, sweeping circuit. More information on karting’s return to NCCAR will be announced soon.
The third round of the series brings WKC racers back to the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course June 16-18 for the Dart Kart Club-hosted AKRA Nationals. The Mid-Ohio Nationals was the largest road racing turnout in 2022 as it has been for the last several years, and WKC is pleased to continue its partnership at Mid-Ohio with Dart Kart again in 2023.
On July 8-9 its back to Summit Point’s Shenandoah Circuit for WKC’s annual summer regional at the 1.7-mile course.
WKC will host its second AKRA National of the season August 25-27 at Summit Point’s 2.0-mile Main Circuit. This will be a three-day event including Friday practice and for the first time in several years it returns as a standalone race for karters (not shared with the formula car group).
The six-race WKC points series will close September 22-24 at Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum, Pa., where Dart Kart hosts its AKRA Road Race Nationals season closer.
WKC members will count their best 8 of 12 races toward the 2023 Woodbridge Kart Club championship series.
