The wait is finally over! The 2020 season opener for the Woodbridge Kart Club is this weekend at the Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point Motorsports Park. Please take advantage of online registration to register for classes and prepay for your pit passes to avoid long lines and waits with at-track registration.
Here are some important notes and updates from this week’s conference call with the track.
First, all guidelines sent out in the previous press release will be in effect for this event. If you missed them, here they are:
• Masks or facial coverings will be required when you are not in your immediate paddock space. This includes the mandatory driver’s meeting each morning
• Social distancing is encouraged at all times and will be adhered to when conducting transactions at the track (i.e. registration, scale line, tech, etc.)
• At the completion of a race, we ask that while in the scale line, please keep your helmet on or have a mask ready to put on once you take the helmet off
• Parking spots located directly in front of the main infield building will NOT be available for this event. WKC officials will use this space to create a lane between the scales (left covered portion of the building) and post-race tech (right covered portion of the building)
WKC set-up crewmembers will be allowed to enter the paddock area at 5:30pm on Friday, July 10th. Once set-up has been completed, the main gate will open for competitor load-in. Please expect to enter sometime after 6pm. Our staff will work diligently to get you in as soon as possible.
Charlie’s Bar-B-Q food truck will be on site and central to both tracks. There will not be a concession stand open inside of our paddock area. The food truck will be located near the silos that you pass as you approach the Shenandoah Circuit Bridge. The truck will be open for breakfast from 7:30-9:00am for breakfast and from 11:00-1:00pm for lunch each day.
Overnight stays are permitted inside of the paddock area and the shower facility will be available.
Finally, there have been a few revisions to the weekend schedule. Please refer to the Woodbridge Kart Club for the most updated version. The changes will hopefully accommodate more participation in some of our classes. There will be no further updates to the schedule prior to the event. Any additional changes, if needed, will occur at the track. Remember, times posted on the schedule are approximate and classes may be combined or omitted pending participation.
Please remember that the current health situation is very fluid and guidelines may change with short notice. Your cooperation is very much appreciated if such changes occur. We wish you safe travels and see you at the track!
