SUMMIT POINT, W. Va. — Woodbridge Kart Club officials have made the difficult decision to cancel this October’s regional road race at Summit Point Motorsports Park’s Main Circuit.
The event was originally scheduled for Oct. 26-27.
The WKC Board of Directors opted to cancel the event due to the entry counts at the club’s opening 2024 races at Summit Point’s Shenandoah Circuit in April and NCCAR in May, as well as a trend of slightly lower numbers at recent sprint and road race karting events around the eastern half of the country.
Taking those entry counts into consideration, officials believed a race in late October would not be fiscally responsible.
The October event cancellation means there will be only one opportunity to race Summit Point’s popular 10-turn, 2-mile natural terrain Main Circuit in 2024 — Round 4 of the AKRA / Hoosier Kartsport National Road Racing Series this August 23-25. The event will feature a full day of Friday practice, and racing on Saturday and Sunday.
Next up on the WKC schedule is the Dart Kart Club-hosted AKRA Nationals at Nelson Ledges Road Course in Garrettsville, Ohio, southeast of Cleveland. The Nelson Ledges races counts for WKC championship points, and the event is always a good time at the fast and sweeping 2-mile course.
Visit dartkartclub.com for Nelson Ledges information, including pre-registration and the event schedule.

Following Nelson Ledges, we’ll look forward to seeing everyone at Summit Point in August, before closing the 2024 season with Dart Kart Club at the AKRA Nationals at Pittsburgh International Race Complex September 27-29.
Pre-registration for the Summit Point Nationals will open in July, and will be announced on our website, Facebook page and email newsletter.
