SUMMIT POINT, W. Va. — Following the recent release of the Woodbridge Kart Club’s tentative 2026 Road Racing Series schedule, many members have asked about the future of WKC Sprint Races for next season.
WKC President Bill Kassy is pleased to announce that he’s met with Summit Point management to reserve three weekends on the Washington Circuit for the 2026 season.
The tentative dates for 2026 sprint races at Summit Point are:
– June 13-14
– August 8-9
– September 5-6
The major change from the 2025 program is 2026 sprint events will be two-day races (Saturday and Sunday) versus one-day events.
In 2025, WKC successfully hosted three one-day sprint races on Summit Point’s Washington Circuit. The course was finalized with covered hay bales and plastic barriers to create a proper sprint configuration. These events marked the first time in the club’s 60-plus-year history that WKC promoted and organized sprint races.
While there were some operational challenges typical of a new program, the inaugural season was largely a success, attracting more than 100 drivers across the three events — including a mix of dedicated sprint racers and longtime WKC road racers participating. Multiple experienced kart racers said they thoroughly enjoyed the Washington Circuit layout.
